Walking Benefits
Walking is the simplest way to get around. It’s unexpensive, pollution-free, and great exercise!
How many times do you get in a car to go somewhere that is less than ½ mile away? If you can’t walk all the way to work or to the store, perhaps you could you drive part-way and walk the rest of the way. Take a few extra minutes, walk, and help yourself and the planet!

Bicycle Safety
- A helmet is essential protection for all bicyclists; riders aged 13 and under are required by law to wear a helmet.
- Adults should ride on the right side of the road with traffic unless on a bicycle path and follow the rules of the road. Obey all stop lights and signs, and steer clear of vehicle blind spots and opening car doors.
- Always wear bright, reflective clothing, and make eye contact with drivers at intersections. Bicycle lights and reflectors are required by law after dark.

- Ask around: Don’t be surprised if a friend or family member has an unused bicycle that might fit your need!
